The Turkish Ministry of Economy recently implemented changes to the Communication of Import of Consumer Products – Product Safety and Inspections No. 2014/ 18 (communiqué at Official Gazette, d, 31.12.2013 and no. 28868). Effective immediately, test reports from accredited laboratories outside of Turkey are no longer accepted. Additionally, all parts of the footwear product, regardless of whether it ocmes into contact with the skin or wheter it is accesible or no, must be tested. The restricted substances are: There is no recommended test method. Given the latest chenges where all components of the shoe need to be tested, organizations shipping footwear product into Turkey should consider amending thei protocols in order to align with this new regulation.
